Year-in-Review: Hands down one of the best birds I saw this year, the White-crowned Pigeon is a rarity from the Islands that found its way to Sanibel's Ding-Darling refuge this past February.

Before seeing the bird, Cindy chided me that I had lost it over a pigeon. After seeing it, she agreed that it was simply spectacular.

Researching the species, I learned that they can travel 30 miles a day, at speeds faster than motorboats, in search of food.

I cannot believe I am only at February. There a lot of shots to still go through. I hope you enjoy.
