Sunrise over Clingmans Dome
Yesterday morning, this was how we began our three day Blue Ridge Parkway drive. Driving up to Clingmans Dome in the pitch black, through a cloud that is a permanent resident of the mountain midpoint, I was filled with fear that there would be no sunrise. I could not have been wronger.
What followed was an encounter with Elk, spectacular fall foliage vistas, rushing waterfalls, Tree monsters, new friends made along the way and a final goodnight with my love, at a haunted hotel in the mystical town of Blowing Rock. More pictures of the day, and the rest of the story, when we get home.
I hope you enjoy
