There are many things we don't often get in the southernmost part of the Arizona high desert. Snow and overfilled water basins, or ponds, would be high on that list. However, some late-season rains filled the ponds, followed by an unusual snow sqaull that coated the lower range with highlights of white changed that. The result was a rare opportunity to capture a mirror image of the mighty Huachuca's, ringed by the early morning's subtle hues of purple and pink, in the Gravel Pit at the base of Garden Canyon.

I would not have known of this spot had not a good friend shared it with me, and the rest of our small collective of shutterbugs, last night. As I stood by the water, grateful in the extreme, as the bitter morning cold rendered my fingers more numb each minute, I could not help but marvel at the pure beauty this seemingly barren land holds.

The temple of His creation surrounds us, we have but to open our eyes and our hearts to see it.

I remain His scribe.
