Morning in Manhatten

Morning in Manhatten

Living in the high desert of Arizona is everything I have ever dreamed of. But, I would be lying if I said that I never missed the sculptural beauty of the NYC skyline. Other cities may offer stunningly moving skylines, but the soul moving power created by the shear lines of New York's architecture is a dramatic beauty unmatched anywhere in the world.

Many mornings, while behind me the highways buzzed in the stifled congestion of the morning commute, I would stand at Liberty State Park blessed to witness the dawning days emergence from behind the steel and glass curtain on Manhatten Island. Today my sunrises grow in silence from behind the staccato outline of the sky-island mountains. They are starkly different and, in another way, equally majestic to those east coast daybreaks of my past. I wouldn't change having them for anything, but I am grateful that I can travel back through my pictures to those past experiences and their transcendent memories.
