It was like a Warbler dream. As we drove down wildlife drive, we spotted a warbler in a tree. It turned out the tree had berries that were irresistible to these northbound migrants. For over an hour we stood there and watched dozens of birds fly in. Nine Cape May Warblers! Blackpoll, Magnolia, Pine, Prairie, Yellow-rump, Black-throated Blue, Palm and Black and White. It was worth the sun burn.
Of all them, this Cape May is my favorite. I have only ever seen one before, last year. Such a stunning bird. I fear I will be burdening you with shots of these birds for at least a week. I hope you enjoy them.
