There is such a great depth of iconic symbols people associate with the southern Arizona high desert. None holds as much power and strength as the mighty Saguaro cactus. They are our redwoods - aged standard-bearers of an arid landscape that attest to the survival of the skilled and sturdy. They are much like the settlers, old and new, who inhabit the beautiful place. A robust group of independent, like-minded individualists that thrive in a land most people would pass by.

Those that passed by would miss the stellar beauty of a land where God has painted some of His most excellent majesties. There is unbridled inherent artistry in the desert. Whether on display during the day or night, here, one can find a landscape that sets the soul free to ruminate on the meaning of existence. For me, that existence, and privilege, is in finding and sharing the glory of its beauty.

I remain His scribe
