As I sat on the timeline of the ancients on the cool dirt floor of the granite boulder cave, I witnessed a vision repeated over the millennia but never old. Here the quiet was only broken by the ever-present, ominous tzzeee of the voracious late summer mosquitos. I imagined a time long ago when the creators of the wall art that covered the walls around me passing the calm of night while grinding the days grain harvest in the metates before me. Their souls may have traveled the pathway of angels over 1,000 years ago, but the symbols of their presence remained behind to teach those here today.
To witness and share the wonder of life in the high desert of Southern Arizona ranks as one of the greatest blessings gifted to me. Here, as history meets the present days, I am awed by the power and diversity of His grand plan. I remain His scribe.
