It was after 1:00 in the morning when I arrived at the Teardrop Memorial in Bayonne to take a shot of the memorial lights. As I walked past the Memorial, a gift from Russia after the 9/11 attacks, I noticed that the memorial lights could be seen through the tear in the monument. It was too powerful an image to pass by. Of all the pictures I have taken in memory of the innocent fallen we honor this day, this was the one that had my crying. We, those of us from the tri-state area, have all lost friends to that tragic attack. This image is in memory of my friends now gone in body, but ever present in mind.
