I did not set out to capture fireworks and lightning. It was July 5th, and I thought all the fireworks displays had ended. The storms I was trying to shoot were so far away that I primarily practiced night lightning photography techniques. I did not expect to get any usable shots. And I would not normally consider this a keeper except that it captured both a distant fireworks explosion near Tombstone and a distant lightning strike near McNeil. That made it a fun shot, so I decided to share it.
