I was tempted to crop this image to have the thin lightning strike more prominent but decided against it. For me, the strike in this image is a small part of the overall beauty of this sunny Friday afternoon during the August monsoon. Each element of the shot spoke to me, from the scrappy clouds and rain shafts to the brilliant rainbow and varied hues of blue that painted the sky. Each had a voice in the choir of beauty that sang this day's song. So, I decided to leave the image whole, just as it did for my soul.
