It's important always to look around you when enjoying nature. You can never be sure where the next amazing surprise is going to be.

We were on the trail, looking for warblers, when we spied a slight movement on the forest floor. Looking more closely we found this spectacular Anole Lizard in the midst of his mating display. Perched on the log he proceeded to do a number of push-ups, ending the set with this stunning display.

I had never before seen an Anole Lizard. I had never before even heard of one. That's the beauty of nature. Now I know about them and can keep my eye peeled for their beauty during my walks.
