Noontime at Whitewater Draw AZ is a time for the returning. As if on schedule, the 10's of thousands of Sandhill Cranes that departed the Draw at first light begin to return from the surrounding cornfields at around 11:30 am. It is a return migration that lasts for hours.

I enjoy the scene in this image as it shows Cranes crossing the field of view with incoming squadrons flying in behind them. Perhaps Whitewater Draw should be renamed Sandhill Crane airport.
