There is a solitude in the night. It carries seclusion that transcends the presence of others and isolates the soul in a contemplative cacoon where perspective is redefined and purpose renewed. The night is a time when we can gain a brief glimpse of His eternity and understand our place in it. Trouble and worries become ever smaller viewed in this context.

On this night, standing deep in the Southern Arizona High Desert, before the barn a Dos Cabesos, one amongst a group, I pondered. The warmth of friends held back the chilly night air, while conversation and song spurred by an overtiredness brought on by the hour made all good in the world.

Daylight and its warm glow may bring the renewal of the spirit, but it is at night, under the Trail of Angels, when we can touch on understanding the magnificence of creation. I am blessed to witness and share these moments. I remain His scribe.
