Lewis's Woodpecker III
In one of the best winter backyard birding days I can remember, we had 27 species come through. The highlight was the Lewis's Woodpecker finally coming in long enough to get good shots. Next on the list would be the yard bird lifer Red-naped Sapsucker.
Truth told, if my good friend Tony had not stopped by I probably would not have spent any time in the yard today. The 27-degree weather was enough to keep me from sitting outside. As it was, we pushed each other on as the cold seeped into our bones, neither one of us wanting to give up on the incredible show in front of us. It was epic.
I remain grateful to God for the chance to witness and share His artwork. I remain His scribe.
