There is never any doubt when a Gila Woodpecker is about. With a boisterously loud cry, they announce their presence to the entire yard. Along with Cactus Wren, they are the loudmouths of the yard. I'm not sure who wins the "I AM HERE" award, the Gila or the Wren. I am sure that I am glad they come to visit every day.
