The Snowy Egret is a favorite of mine. Some may find them fierce looking. To others, they are beautiful. To me, they are a regal and stunning exploration of contrast in yellow, black and white.

Always a welcome sight when they migrate through the NorthEast, I never feel like I have seen them enough. However in Sanibel I found them prolifically abundant. It was a good omen.

I had the good fortune of getting close enough in this picture to provide a real study of the Snowy Egrets facial features. As I look at it, I find I move back and forth from fascination to fear.
