Baltimore Oriole (BAOR)

Baltimore Oriole (BAOR)

I'm not sure if there are more Baltimore Orioles this year, or if I have become better at seeing them. It is not a bad thing, though. They are one of the most beautiful birds in the tree tops.

I found this bird (a dark female) perched high on top of an evergreen, its deep green pines highlighting the birds brilliant orange plumage.

There is a difference between a photographer that shoots birds and a birder that photographs them. One creates a stage and brings the bird to them; the other goes into the field and gets the best possible photo of the birds they find. I am the latter. It is the love of the wilderness, the trail, the outdoors and the hunt and the find that thrills me. That said, I certainly love looking at the work of others, it's just not my style.

I hope you enjoy.
