We took a short walk in the Lord Stirling section of the Great Swamp early this morning. Our goal was a life mourning warbler which we did not find. But, it was a fantastic day anyway with an FOY Prothonotary Warbler, a Wood Duck perched high on an exposed limb and this very wet Eastern Bluebird. He surprised us by flushing out of the deep grass along the trail onto this exposed perch about 5 feet from us. What I found most interesting was how the rain seemed to deepen his already dark blue color.

I hope you enjoy
