Barn Swallow (BARS)

Barn Swallow (BARS)

We didn't need to go all the way to California to see a Barn Swallow. Our shorelines, marshes and lakes have thriving populations of this aerial acrobat. It just so happened that this one decided to pose for us, and I am not one to pass up such an opportunity.

Cynthia and I head back to the San Francisco area for work at the end of February this year. While there we are looking forward to taking some time to enjoy the incredible diversity of birds that thrive in the area. We especially love to see the different hummingbirds. High on the list is also the large numbers of Avocet and the Black-neck Stilt (Cindy's favorite). Perhaps we will even get to see the elusive Wandering Tattler.

I hope you enjoy.
