I knew when I first saw this image that I wanted to render it as an oil. Something about the way the Reddish Egret stood amongst the Short-billed Dowitchers led me to see this more like a painting than a picture. It is not a technique that I utilize often. I am interested in your feedback. Happy to post the original if anyone wants to se what it looks like before the effect.
