Just Before...
A Ranch. A Homestead. A Haven. Tucked into the rolling foothills that lead to Ramsey Mountain sits a home with a history that touches the first settlers of the southern Arizona high desert. The Brown Canyon ranchhouse was first settled around 1800. It exists today as a gift to the generations from its series of owners, including a first peoples Yaqui Indian. In 1998 it was deeded to the forest service so that now all can enjoy its beautiful grounds and spiritual glory. It is one of my favorite places in the Huachuca Mountains.
At night, watching the Milky Way seemingly rotate through the sky on its path to infinity, I begin to understand what a tiny part of Gods creation I am. It is also when I am filled with the overflowing grandeur that my life, along with all others, is so very sacred and profound. It is during these moments, with the silence of the night broken only by the sernading packs of coyotes, that I am filled with the most heartfelt sense of gratitude and awe for the life I am living. With one foot in the historical past and the other in the glory of the future, I am at peace with the sanctity of the moment.
It is with humble gratitude that I share the images I have been blessed to witness. I remain His scribe.
