Every photographer has at least one dream shot. I have many. One of them was sunset exposure of a powerful strike of lightning with feeders flying out from the shaft. Today I was blessed to get that shot. Even better, it came at the end of the most epic storm chasing days I have experienced.

There is nothing that compares to the southern Arizona high desert monsoon season. It is a time of year marked by scorching hot days. So hot that they burn the ground's moisture into the sky — engorging the marshmallow clouds until they can hold not a pin drop more. Then, with an intensity unparalleled, they release their bloated bladders in tumultuous storms that are punctuated with massive bolts of lightning. To witness monsoon is to see miracle and power weaved into poetry. To have the honor of sharing it is more of a gift than I deserve. I remain His scribe.
