Thick fog blanketed the San Pedro Valley this morning, carpeting the recess in a small sea of dense white. Low sky island hills protruded through the foggy tide as if to claim bragging rights to the region's name. That is not why this most bio-diverse realm in the high desert of southern Arizona received its name, but it was a visual treat nonetheless.

I have only to walk out my front door each day to find renewed strength and hope for a better future. Immersing myself in the beauty of His creation in this magic land allows me to set aside the pain of loss, even if it is for just a small while. I know that as the fog of deaths impact recedes, those islands of relief will join together in a more serene whole. I can endure that wait, for I have a love of God and the support of friends to bolster my spirit. For that, I am eternally grateful.

In humble gratitude, I remain His scribe.
