It would be true to share that our scouting mission to find some exotic Saguaro Cactus to use as a foreground element for our next Milky Way outing was a triple success. I have dreamed of finding a unique, multi-armed giant as an anchor to the trail of angels since we moved to the southern Arizona high desert. I just have not had time until this week to scout locations.

We located numerous places in the area of Saguaro National Park with ample numbers of the iconic cactus rising high into the sky. Each patch of the newly flowering succulents seemed to beg to be our choice. We were also able to shoot the May Blue, Flower moon from a couple of locations. One of those images has become one of the most viral I have ever posted.

And then we spied a beat up old primitive road coursing about a mile through the desert only to end on the top of an isolated high patch of ground. It did not take much mutual persuading for us to decide we needed to explore the spot to watch the dawning sunset. The back side of the mound was a steep jagged drop-off, anchored on the right with a lunar looking boulder and on the left with a classic Saguaro cactus. As the sun cast its final orange glow on the verdant valley below us, we knew we had found the perfect end to a perfect day.

I am humbled that God has allowed me the privilege to find and share the beauty of His magnificent world. I remain His scribe.
