Winter in Southern Arizona
The Rockies?
No. The Huachucas during our one week of winter.
What people who don't live here don't understand is that you get just enough of everything in the high desert of Southern Arizona. Paradise doesn't get any better than this!
Yes, there is a story about how I was out taking photos of Short-eared Owls when I turned and saw this incredible sunset over the snow-covered mountains. A story about how the reflection of the suns final moments lit a fire in the clouds that reflected onto the white canvas on the summits of Miller and Carr peaks shading them in hues of reddish pink. About how I turned my 400 mm lens away from the field towards the towering sky island peaks to grab five quick images so that I could remember and share the moment. And yes, the story does include my most humble thanks to God for allowing me the moment and the gratitude to be His scribe. But I think you all knew that all along.
