Dirt Road

Dirt Road

If you drive to the end of Sierra Vista and make a right you will find yourself heading towards Tombstone on Charleston Road. Sierra Vista, the largest and most developed town in Cochise County stands in stark contrast to Tombstone yearning to exist in an earlier century. The further away from the former, you get, the more rugged the terrain becomes. It was on this path that I pulled into a dirt road to shoot the incoming storm.

As I stood there I imagined what it must have been like for the early ranchers as they bed down for the night during monsoon seasons frequent lightning storms. Shortly afterward the storm got too close for me to stay. I got back in my car, turned on the A/C and some country music and realized that, compared to those stalwart guardians of the range, I am a coward. I'm ok with that.
