Long-eared Owl VII

This is my definition of a tree hugger. I went back to visit our local Long-eared Owls yesterday and found this one in their normal elongated camouflage posture directly against the trunk of the tree.

Long-eared owls will often roost in this elongated position, which makes them look like part of a branch. It is a very successful tactic which makes them difficult to find.
